Wicked After Dark Blog Hop and Giveaway!!!

Welcome to the Paranormal G-spot, fellow wicked book lovers!

I'm thrilled to be a part of this blog hop and I have a special treat for you. I'm sending you all on a little trip. You want to get to know some of my wicked characters, right? What better way than to speak to them yourselves? So just sit back and pretend you've been pushed through the portal to the Underworld where you'll meet the sexy demon from Destiny Bewitched, Geo. Good luck!

***

What I first noticed when I stepped – no, make that when Leia pushed me – through the portal to the was the hot muggy air so thick it seemed to stick to the roof of my mouth.

“Should’ve worn a tank top,” I said to no one in particular.

A little shiver crept through me as I took a look around. I was surrounded by tree trunks as thick as my house.

Movement on the ground caught my eye. “Ah!” I yelped when some kind of red-eyed mutant rat scurried across the dead grass. Above me, leaves rustled. I dared a glance at the canopy of green.

A big, black shape stood out against the sage flora. Winged but almost featherless, with a long neck and sharp beak, it sat utterly still on a branch.

Then it swiveled its hairless head and stared at me, an unsettling look in its eye – the same look I give a Hershey bar when I’ve been dieting.

The bird let out a horrible screech then jumped from the tree, soaring straight for me.

“Ahhh!”

A sword swiped through the air only a few feet away and the bird flopped to the ground. My heart was pounding in my chest so hard I was surprised you couldn’t see its outline under my shirt. The wielder of the sword faced away as he wiped the black blood off the steel.

I took my time looking him over. Brown leather pants hugged a firm, bitable ass. His back was bare so I watched his muscle flex as he slid the giant sword into its sheath. It reminded me of what other things he might have that were…giant. Heat crept to my cheeks at the unexpected thought.

He turned around to reveal a set of washboard abs that glistened under a thin layer of sweat. His skin was smooth and tan. Did he always work shirtless outdoors? Someone like that might make me rethink my hatred for gardening.

His jaw was set firm and proud though a small smile played at the edge of his lips. Warm copper eyes stared back at me, twinkling with amusement. Probably, because I’m gawking and panting at him like a love-sick puppy!

I cleared my throat. “Um.” My voice seemed to get stuck somewhere between my brain and my mouth. “Thank you for saving me,” I finally choked out. I stuck out my hand to shake his.

“I'm Geo,” he answered in a sexy rumble. He shook my hand. “What are you doing so far from home, little one?”

I batted my eyes and grinned, surprised I managed to hold back a giggle at his pet name.  “I actually came all this way just to see you.”

His brow furrowed. “Me?”

I nodded. “I was hoping you’d tell me a little bit about…” My cheeks burned. Damn Leia for making me do this. Was she so lazy she couldn’t write the post herself? “About your, uh, sex life.”

A grin stretched across his handsome face. “I see.” He stepped forward.

I stepped back.

A lion in a man’s body was the only way I could describe the presence of this man. Caged lust. Confidence. Knowledge but with a gentle patience. And those horns…smooth, russet-colored horns curved back from his head, curly brown hair tumbling over them. Who knew horns could be so sexy?

“Follow me” he said, eyeing the trees around us. “It’s not wise to stay in one place in the Underworld.”

I gulped then rushed to his side. It was hard to keep pace with his long strides.

“So, can you tell me a little about yourself?” I asked.

“Well, I’m a demon, as you can see from the horns.” He rubbed his hand across one though he didn’t seem pleased about it. “For now,” he muttered under his breath. “I live here in the Underworld and keep to myself until I can return home.”

“Is it true demons can control people’s minds?” I asked.

He stopped walking and turned to face me. His lips quirked. “Kneel.”

Immediately, my legs gave way and I slumped to the ground. Panicked, I tried to rise but my body wouldn’t cooperate. It was like everything locked down, and I could only wait for his next command.

“Look at me.” His voice slid through me like a warm breath.

Slowly, I lifted my head until my gaze found his. I swear I stopped breathing.

He took three steps then stood inches in front of me. I felt so vulnerable, stuck on my knees while he was so tall and strong, staring down at me. Vulnerable, but damn, it was sexy as hell.

“Open your mouth,” the voice commanded.

I was helpless to resist. My heart fluttered. Is he about to do what I think he is?

He stuck the tip of his thumb between my teeth then ordered, “Suck.”

My god, I’d never done something so sensual in all my life. My lips closed around his thumb and I sucked, imaging it was…another part of his anatomy.

“Stop.”

I did and he removed his thumb then stepped way.

“Does that answer your question?” he asked with twinkling eyes.

I answered, breathlessly. “Yes.”

He nodded. “Good.” Then he turned and started walking again.

It took me a moment to realize I was still on my knees. But I had full control of my body again. I scrambled up then jogged to his side.

Feeling the need to bring up a lighter topic, I asked one of my favorite questions. “Boxers or briefs?”

He arched a brow and the corner of his mouth twitched. “Neither.”

I was sure my eyes about popped out of my head.

Geo cleared his throat and my gaze jumped to his face. Had I just been staring at his package? I gave
my head a shake. “Um, chocolate or vanilla?”

“Both.”

Bet he could cook. My heart thudded in my chest. I’d like to lick something chocolate or vanilla off of him.

“Hard or soft?” I asked.

His eyes narrowed. “What do you think?”

“Hard.”

He laughed and I shuddered. Damn, even his laugh was masculine.

“Fast or slow?”

He thought for a moment. “Fast the first round then slow the second. The first time I’d want to get out all my aggression but then…then I’d want to take my time and savor you.” A greedy glitter started in his eyes. “Maybe even torture you.”

I let go of a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. “Any last words about, um, sex? Specifically, rough sex?”

He paused a moment and stared at the ground in thoughtfulness. “For me, rough sex doesn’t equal violence, or even dominance. It’s passion. The intensity of not only the shared lust but the emotion behind it.” He looked up and gave me a smoldering look. “Do you think it’s sexy that a man could be so hot for you that he rips your clothing to shreds just to get at your body quicker?”

Holy Jesus! “Yes.”

He moved in close to me. I could feel his hot breath against my forehead. My stomach plummeted as I waited for his sensual words.

“You know when it gets to that point, don’t you, Francesca? When the woman says, ‘to hell with it, gimme all you got,’ and she doesn’t care if there’s a pointy rock shoving into her back. Or if there’ll be bruises on her arms where he’s holding her down. Or if her lips are raw from the harshness of his stubble. She can’t feel any of that anyway. And if she can, it turns her on.”

It was turning me on right now!

“Because it reminds her of how bad her man wants her.”

Yes, yes, yes! My chest heaved as I stared into his soulful eyes. Kiss me, damn it. My lips puckered.
He leaned in. I held my breath.

“Alright, dove,” he said, abruptly. “It’s been a pleasure.”

What? I shook my head to break the spell. Over so soon?

Geo gestured behind me. I turned and recognized the hazy shape of the portal door. He’d walked me in a circle? Tricky demon.

He took my hand and brought it to his lips. "It was a pleasure to meet you." He placed a warm kiss on my wrist and I almost fainted.

“Safe travels, dear one.” He gave me one last sexy grin then disappeared as I walked through the portal.

A cold feeling crept over me as I returned home. I didn’t like that door one bit. I rubbed my arms and shivered, but I couldn’t seem to wipe a goofy smile off my face. I remembered is warm lips against my arm. Maybe it was just me, but I think he lingered.

Excerpt – 18 and over

His wide eyes told her he’d probably never heard music come from a machine before. She recognized the song. I Put a Spell on You by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Somebody in the Underworld liked 70’s rock. Go figure.

“I love this song.” She placed the tape player on the bed and stood up, feeling a little reckless, a little free. Must be the wine.

The lead singer’s throaty voice and the heavy beat fit the dim room. The song was gritty and raw just like the Underworld. She looked at Geo, laid back in the chair all big and bad, strong and silent. He’d never looked so sexy.

Definitely the wine.

“Dance with me,” she commanded.

His brows lifted.

“Come on.” She grabbed his hand and tugged.

With a smirk, he let her pull him to his feet.

“Just put your hands here and here.” She guided his hands to her hip and shoulder but he yanked out of her grip.

“I know how to dance, woman,” he growled. Then he plopped both hands on her low back, just above her backside, and yanked her up against his body.

She gasped. His arousal pressed hard against her abdomen.

Taking the lead, he moved them to the music, grinding against her in a most indecent way. He bent his head and inhaled her hair then let out a savage groan.

Oh my.

All that caged lust was focused on her. Could she handle a man like Geo? His fingers dug into her exposed skin where he’d slipped them under her waistband – his hands like a fiery brand. She swallowed hard.

When the guitar solo came on he bent her backward and she fell, dropping her head, trusting him to hold her as she arched away, presenting her chest. His growl of approval seemed to vibrate straight to her clit. Roughly, he pulled her up and she slammed into his chest with both hands. He gazed down at her, panting, his eyes dark with lust. Her hands shook until she stilled them on his shoulders.

His fingers moved lower, grasping her bare ass and squeezing. Her knees trembled and threatened to give way. Then he lowered his mouth to her ear. She canted her head to the side, thinking he was going to say something, but instead he bit down on her lobe.

“Ow.”

“Be still,” he ordered softly then licked the small sting away.

Oh my Lord, I’ve freed the beast.

His mouth skimmed along her neck, licking, kissing. Goose bumps rose over her skin. He nipped the side of her jaw and she jerked. A shiver shook her. He was so unpredictable – so dangerous. And she’d never been more turned on.

“Did you put a spell on me, little witch?” he rasped in her ear. “Am I yours?”

Mine? God I want to say yes! She could barely find her voice. “Something tells me you’re not the type to belong to anybody.”

He leaned his forehead against hers. “I’m beginning to doubt that.”

Halloween Event Guest Author Charlotte Abel!

Everyone welcome another Halloween guest author!!!

Charlotte Abel

She's here to talk about the first book in her brand new Sanctuary Series, River's Recruit. And she's brought with her, River and Johnathan, two characters from this new book! Check out what they have to say about Halloween!

Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, how? If not, would you like to?

River: No. My people are too busy trying to survive to waste time on such nonsense.

Jonathan: Hey! Don't diss Halloween until you've tasted candy. It's one of my favorite holidays. When Franklin and I were kids we did the whole costume, trick-or-treat thing. Of course, Halloween in Leadville, Colorado is freaking cold so we all had to wear coats and hats over our costumes, which sort of ruins the effect. Ghosts, mummies, and zombies aren't very scary when they're bundled up in hats, coats and mittens. Once we were old enoughh to ditch our parents, we spent more time tee-peeing houses, Saran-wrapping cars, and other non-destructive acts of pseudo-vandalism. Later on, I started going to parties on Halloween. Franklin stayed home and passed out candy with Mom and Dad.

What’s your favorite Halloween memory? If you don’t have one, how about a story about any supernatural encounters?

Jonathan: When Franklin and I were in middle school, we switched identities and went to each other's classes as a Halloween prank. We didn't fool any of our friends, but we pulled it off with some of our teachers.

River: I don't have any "Halloween" memories. Does shifting into a white wolf count as a supernatural encounter?

What’s your favorite Halloween candy? If you’ve never had any, drive to 7-11 and buy some then answer.

Jonathan: Midnight Milky-Way candy bars. In fact, that's one of the things I missed the most after River kidnapped me ... I mean recruited ... me.

River: I did NOT kidnap Jonathan! He came willingly. What's 7-11?

Jonathan: It was either go with River or freeze to death in that damn blizzard. I didn't have much of a choice.

What’s your ideal Halloween costume? Like, if you could be anything for Halloween, what would you be?

River: I don't understand the question.

Jonathan: I'd give anything if Franklin and I could exchange identifies again. I miss him so much.

Now onto the non Halloween related ones…

Who is your best friend (pets count)?

River: Jonathan

Jonathan: River

Besides each other?

River: Gabriel. He's quite a bit younger than me, but you won't find a more loyal friend.

Jonathan: Before Franklin died, he was my best friend. No one knows you better than an identical twin. Now, I'd have to say Gabriel. River's right about the kid's loyalty. He's also brave, generous and humble.

Who do you love most?

River: I'd rather not say.

Jonathan: It's a little early in our relationship to be dropping the L-bomb

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?

River: Freedom.

Jonathan: Franklin. I want my brother back.

Sorry...that's a little heavy. How about an excerpt that might lighten the mood?

Jonathan McKnight tapped on his brother’s bedroom door then opened it and stuck his head inside. “Hey, can I borrow your sleeping bag?”

Franklin sighed, laid his book face down on his desk then turned towards Jonathan and narrowed his eyes. “Why?”

“I have a date and mine smells like stale beer.”

“That’s disgusting; and the answer is definitely no.”

Jonathan stepped into Franklin's room then shut the door behind him and leaned against it. “Come on. It’s my last chance to hook up with Naomi.”

“We deploy tomorrow. This is your last chance to spend time with Mom and Dad.”

“Mom’s not even talking to me. She still blames me for your decision to enlist.”

Franklin scooted his chair away from his desk, folded his arms across his chest and arched his eyebrows.

Jonathan’s jaw tightened. “No one put a gun to your head and said you had to join up just because I did.”

Franklin balanced on the back legs of his chair. “Someone has to keep you out of trouble until you get your head screwed on straight.”

Jonathan hated the way everyone assumed he’d enlisted on a whim. It might have seemed like an impulsive decision, but he’d given it plenty of thought. Franklin was the one that had taken a major detour from his life’s plan. Jonathan hadn’t even had a plan until he started talking to the army recruiter at school. “Seriously, Frankie, why’d you enlist? You know we won’t see much of each other once we get out of basic training.”

“We can hang out when we’re not on missions.”

Jonathan ignored the obvious dig. Franklin had been planning on going on a completely different kind of mission. They both had — until two years ago when Jonathan discovered the pleasures of beer, pot and girls.

Franklin never wavered from the straight and narrow path. He was a model Mormon, a poster boy for how to live a clean, boring life.

Jonathan tried to keep the path in sight; but he enjoyed his side trips too much to give them up. He’d repent later; when he was too old to have fun. “I’ll give you fifty bucks if you let me borrow your sleeping bag.”

“I’m not going to help you commit a mortal sin. And even if that weren’t an issue, I still wouldn’t loan you my sleeping bag. That’s just gross.”

“Where’s that fabric freshener stuff Mom uses?”

Franklin stood up and crossed the room then put his hands on Jonathan’s shoulders. “Don’t do this.”

Jonathan grinned and patted Franklin’s cheek. “Don’t worry about it, Frankie. You’re righteous enough for both of us.”

“It doesn’t work that way and you know it. And what about Naomi? If you really loved her, you wouldn’t even think about taking her virtue.”

“Jeeze, Frankie! I'm not taking anything she doesn't want to give. And I never said I loved her.” A twinge of guilt pricked Jonathan’s conscience. He’d already decided to drop the L-bomb if nothing else worked. He and Naomi slid into second base on their first date and rounded third more than once since then. But she refused to go any further, claiming she wanted to save herself for marriage. After last weekend, there wasn’t much left to save. And there was no way in hell he was going into combat as a virgin.

Franklin cleared his throat. “Are you going to be careful?”

“What do you mean?” Jonathan knew exactly what Franklin was asking but couldn’t resist the temptation to tease him.

Franklin rolled his eyes. “Do you have protection?”

Jonathan smacked his forehead with an open palm. “Oh man, I knew I was forgetting something. Do you still have that sample pack they gave out in health class last year?”

A deep crimson flush spread up Franklin’s neck, across his cheeks and over the tops of his ears. “I threw it away.”

Jonathan laughed and punched Franklin’s shoulder. “I’m just messing with you. Don’t worry, I got it covered. And, yes, the pun was intentional.”

A Naughty SSS

Today's SSS is from The Dom with a Safeword, which releases in only a week and a half!!!!

When Q and Sabrina get caught snooping in Jude's Closet 'O Kink, Sabrina ends up getting more than she bargained for - a demonstration on how wrist cuffs work. It gets even naughtier from there.

“So,” she said, forcing herself to speak matter-of-factly and not betray her arousal, “you do this to women then?”

“I do, when they want me to. I don’t lure young women who don’t want it.” He gave her an ironic grin. “But you…” He traced his finger along her bottom lip. “You look like you need it.”

Q appeared beside her. “If she says yes, you have to share,” she told him.

Poor Sabrina! Ganged up on by two Doms! Though... I know some who'd easily trade places with her ;)

What about you?

Talking about Voodoo on the Oxford Whispers Book Tour!!!

Another Halloween guest post!
Today I have the lovely and interesting Marion Croslydon talking about Voodoo and psychic powers and all things paranormal! Read on readers! I'm excited for this one.

Hi Leia! Thank you very much for the invite. It’s an honor to be there.

Oxford Whispers is a New Adult Paranormal Romance (Upper-Young-Adult / Mature Young Adult / “College-Lit”). It tells the story of Madison LeBon, an American student at Oxford University, with psychic powers she prefers to ignore. But when the tragic lovers in a painting begin to haunt her, she must learn to accept her gift. Otherwise, life will imitate art and Madison's own first love will be doomed.

I have a natural inclination for the occult and magic. My maternal family has gypsy roots to start with, but my heroine Madison has an even more powerful heritage to deal with since she comes from a long line of Voodoo Queens and Voodoo Priestesses. Voodoo-ism has always fascinated me. There are so many misconceptions starting with the clichés born in watching James Bond’s Live and Let Die too many times ;-)

I was born in West Africa. When I had to leave, aged four, I left a piece of my heart behind. Elizabeth was the name of my nanny. She looked after me as if I were her own, carried me on her back in the traditional African way. This proud and kind lady gave me one of my most precious possessions: a Voodoo gris-gris. It was a leather pouch with a small shell on top of it. She had hung it on a rough thread so that I could carry it around my neck. It was meant to protect me from evil spirits and bring me luck.

I took that gris-gris everywhere with me: Each time I took an important exam at school, on my first day in a new job, even when I went to hospital and gave birth to my daughter. Elizabeth passed away many, many years ago, but I know she still looks after me from above and uses a few Voodoo tricks to make my life a happier path to follow.

The idea of mixing Madison’s Voodoo heritage with psychic abilities came to me when I visited Louisiana and New Orleans… and, to be honest, in obsessing about True Blood. The storyline in which Lafayette is possessed with the spirit of Mavis (Season 4) teased my imagination. When I created Madison’s character, I had in mind a kind of “Ivy League’s Sookie Stackhouse”.

Now, my book is titled Oxford Whispers for a reason… It takes place in misty, foggy, Jack-The-Ripper-y England. If Madison is a true daughter of the South, the ghosts who are haunting her are characters from seventeenth-century England, Royalists versus Puritans. The haunting is taking place in Tudor Manor houses and the dark cobbled streets of Oxford. I spent many hours at the British Library researching that period.

Why? Because I studied there and spent many weekends in its surrounding countryside of the Cotswolds. It was a natural place to choose as a setting because I was so familiar with it. And anyway, everybody knows that ghosts originate from Britain ;-)

Oxford Whispers offered me the opportunity to merge the many influences my own life is made of. Africa and Voodoo, gypsies and psychics, Oxford… I’m not as exciting, pretty and smart as Madison, but I can’t deny she has a little bit of me in her.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Here's more about Marion and her book.

BLURB:

Two star-crossed lovers in the English Civil War

A painting with haunting powers

A murderous ghost back for revenge

Madison LeBon is dead set against the dead. She has vowed to ignore her Voodoo-stamped heritage and the psychic gift passed down through her Louisiana family. The world of the living is where she wants to belong.

But her resolution shatters when the ill-fated lovers in a painting—the subject of her first history class at Oxford—begin to haunt her. The lovers warn her against their own nemesis, a Puritan from the English Civil War.

In misty present-day Oxford, Madison embarks on a quest to unravel the secrets of the past and understand her personal bond with the painting. To protect herself, she must learn to accept her gift before life imitates art, in all its tragedy.

College becomes more complicated when she falls hard for Rupert Vance, a troubled aristocrat and descendant of one of the characters in the painting.

With the spirit of a murderer in hot pursuit, Madison comes to realize that her own first love may be doomed…

Based on a real Pre-Raphaelite painting, Oxford Whispers is full of romance, drama and suspense.

Fall in love for the first time… Again

In addition to being an author, I work as an entrepreneur, wife and mother-of-one but spend a good deal of time with books, DVDs and listening to my mp3 player; all for the sake of inspiration, of course. My debut series, The Oxford Trilogy, has been a blast to write because I can indulge in my favorite types of music: Country and English rock.

My main goal as a writer is to make readers dream bigger and cause their hearts to beat a little faster. Since my writing is all about sharing dreams and stories, I love connecting with fellow readers and authors.

Halloween Event Guest Author Sorcha Black!!!

Happy Monday! (If you just groaned reading that then I apologize. I actually wrote this post last night so technically shooting me for being perky on a Monday isn't really fair.)

But it IS a little bit happy because I have here with me today, Sorcha Black! My lovely and funny and awesome co-author of The Dom with a Safeword. And she's going to tell us all about Halloween in the family Black! Ooooh, that works out nicely, doesn't it? She even has a Halloweeny last name ;)

      1. What’s your favorite Halloween memory?

There are so many I don’t know which to choose. The first time I took each of my children out trick-or-treating was exciting – introducing them to the idea of being able to knock at a stranger’s door and beg for candy is a magical thing. The hard part to explain is that it only works one night a year.

2. What’s your favorite Halloween candy?

Necco Wafers! I’m pretty sure everyone else on the planet detests them, but I love them so much that I’ll buy bags and keep them just for me. The company probably runs entirely off of selling me candy once a year. You can’t get them around here except if you get lucky at Halloween.

3. What’s your ideal Halloween costume? Like, if you could be anything for Halloween, what would you be?

I’m not a big fan of dressing up, although Halloween is pretty much my favorite holiday. I spend ages making costumes of anime characters that my kids want to be, even though no one at their school or handing out candy will ever know the character. My customary costume is The Mom Standing at the End of the Driveway Holding the Extra Candy Bags (and Possibly Mittens).

4. If you have kids, do you sneak candy from their bags when they’re sleeping? Be honest!

I can’t say that I do. They trick-or-treat for so long that they willingly share candy with me. We have perpetual candy bins for all of our kids for their holiday candy hoards, and they’re always overflowing. You want to see my kids get excited? Give them a fruit or vegetable to eat.

“Mommy, can I have a snack?”

“What? Is your bin empty?”

“But I wanted a healthy snack!”

“Then you should have picked a better mother.”

5. Does your book have a Halloween theme?

My latest book – co-written with Leia Shaw and Cari Silverwood, has a ghost in it. I do believe that makes it vaguely Halloweeny.

6. Tell us about your book.

It's a sweet, funny, BDSM menage romance with characters I'd love to hang out with.

    Excerpt:
Bi switch brat, Q

“Oh please! You’re not going to try to have your way with me in a dressing room, are you?” she asked with a flirty smile and naughty gleam in her eye. Sabrina knew damn well Q would love to do just that.

Heaving a sigh, Q walked in and shut the door behind her. She was making a big mistake. Chanting in her head that she could control herself, she locked the door. As Sabrina shucked off her dress, she averted her eyes. At times like this she wished Sabrina was a little shyer.

“What do you think?” she asked after a few moments.

Q looked up and swallowed hard. Sabrina was standing in front of her in a white lace bra and panty set. The wispy fabric left little to the imagination.

“I just got them yesterday. Are they cute?” She turned to show Q that the underwear were of the thong persuasion. The curve of her perfect ass beckoned.

Q balled her fists at her sides. There was no way even Sabrina was this naïve. What was she playing at? The feeling of her clit throbbing hard against the seam of her jeans made her lightheaded. “Very... uh... pretty,” she gasped.

Sabrina smiled seductively. “Pretty? Is that all you have to say?”

With every second, her control was slipping away. “Put some clothes on before I make you regret it, little girl,” she growled. Maybe spanking her ass – or biting it – would teach her to behave.

“Little girl? I’m older than you are.”

“By six months. You’re also lighter and shorter than I am. I could do all sorts of naughty things to you and you wouldn’t be able to stop me.”

“I dare you try.”

    About Sorcha:
