Destiny Unchained - He put his arms out to the side and swallowed hard. “I’m not perfect. I’m pushy and protective and I make mistakes. But I know you. I see you. Likely better than anybody on this earth. And I love you, Natalia. I don’t know if it’s enough, but I do know this” – he paused and choked back the emotion lodged in his throat – “there will never be anyone who can love you like I do.”

Destiny Bewitched - He took her face in his hands. “Oh, Samantha,” he said. “I would fall a thousand times if it meant the chance to love you.”

10 Things to do with your Kids on Vacation

Our family vacation is coming up in a few days. And to prepare ourselves – and maybe some of you – I’ve compiled a list of things to do with your kids on vacation…to make it more fun for you.

So. Things to do on vacation with your kids…

1. Leave them at home. Chances are you will have a gajillion times more fun without them whining about the long car ride, fighting over every activity, and complaining for food three times a day.

2. Play the Lost and Found game. This family oriented game is sure to be hours of fun. Just tell your kids they have until sundown to find the lost child desk at whichever local attraction you go to. Then spend all day avoiding them.

3. Load up their plates with jello from the buffet and go relax by the pool. Be prepared to ignore rumors of a food fight. Ear plugs help.

4. Put them in a small raft or inner tube then pay a boater to tug them out to sea. Relax on the beach until the tide brings them back in hours later.

5. Two words. Revolving door.

6. Drive them out into the wilderness and tell them they’re on Survivor. Pick them up at dark. Unless they’re fighting, then the game becomes Lord of the Flies and you pick them up when vacation is over.

7. Plop them in the pool with swimmies and sunscreen. Pick them up at dusk when the life guards leave. Be prepared for them to be pruny for a few days.

8. Find a slippery floor and set them loose with socks on. This will last hours.

9. Dress them as super heroes and have them help the elderly find empty slot machines.

and finally…

10. Eleven is not too young to practice driving on a long stretch road on a cross-country road trip.

Any other ideas are welcome as we leave on Thursday. Leave them in the comments below!

Steamy Excerpt Take-over by Donna Galanti

I'm so excited to introduce my first Goddess Fish blog tour guest, Donna Galanti!

Donna Galanti is the author of the paranormal suspense novel A HUMAN ELEMENT (Echelon Press). Donna has a B.A. in English and a background in marketing. She is a member of International Thriller Writers, Horror Writers Association, The Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, and Pennwriters. She lives with her family in an old farmhouse in PA with lots of nooks, fireplaces, and stinkbugs but sadly, no ghosts.

She's going to talk a bit about her new book, The Human Element, today. And she's brought a sexy, romantic excerpt too!

BLURB:

One by one, Laura Armstrong’s friends and adoptive family members are being murdered, and despite her unique healing powers, she can do nothing to stop it. The savage killer haunts her dreams, tormenting her with the promise that she is next. Determined to find the killer, she follows her visions to the site of a crashed meteorite–her hometown. There, she meets Ben Fieldstone, who seeks answers about his parents’ death the night the meteorite struck. In a race to stop a mad man, they unravel a frightening secret that binds them together. But the killer’s desire to destroy Laura face-to-face leads to a showdown that puts Laura and Ben’s emotional relationship and Laura’s pure spirit to the test. With the killer closing in, Laura discovers her destiny is linked to his and she has two choices–redeem him or kill him.

Reviewers are saying…

“A HUMAN ELEMENT is an elegant and haunting first novel. Unrelenting, devious but full of heart. Highly recommended.” –Jonathan Maberry, New York Times best-selling author of DEAD OF NIGHT

“A thrilling ride full of believable characters, a terrifying villain, an epic battle for survival, and a love worth killing for. A page-turner filled with fascinating twists and turns!” – Marie Lamba, author of WHAT I MEANT

And here's her sweet, sexy excerpt!

They lay in quiet before the fire and Ben got up to get another blanket to throw over them. He spooned behind her and they gazed into the fire, side by side.

"Have you been with lots of women?" Laura broke the silence.

Ben wasn't sure how to answer.

"I'm assuming that means, yes?" Laura prodded him.

"It means, yes, I've had many women but no one ever important in my life."

"Why not?"

Ben breathed in her hair and touched her neck, and Laura pressed her back and buttocks into him. He felt like they were in their own private world. A world with no pain or sorrow or loss. He didn't want to think about it as a fleeting moment. He wanted it to go on, forever.

"Many reasons, I guess. I had a hard childhood and didn't want to get hurt I suppose. I traveled a lot as well, which made it difficult to have a relationship."

"Or maybe you traveled so you couldn't have a relationship."

Ben knew he couldn't hide anything from her. "Maybe." He sighed. Maybe, I'm falling in love with you. The idea hit him like a rock to his head. He had never thought those words, or felt this way. Laura pulled his arm tighter to her, pressing her fingers hard into him.

"Me too."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm falling in love with you too."

"You heard me?" He turned her toward him.

"For the first time, yes."

Ben stared at her trying to figure her out. Why did she have these special abilities?

"I don't know," she answered and he shook his head.

"I'm going to have to watch what I think now, aren't I? You're an amazing girl."

"Woman." She touched his leg and he felt himself rise up again to his full length. "Not girl."

"My woman." Ben kissed her, feeling a deep possession of her take over.

Donna will be awarding a $50 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

Calling Indie Authors!!!

Okay Indies!!! I'm running a BIG labor day 99 cent sale event and I need authors to join in!!! Last year, I did this last year and got my 2nd book on an Amazon Bestseller list. It was hugely successful.

It's FREE to join and risk free if you don't mind putting your book on sale for 99 cents for a few days. If you're worried you won't make back your money pricing your book lower, just remember that the more sales you get on sites like amazon, the higher you get in their algorithms and that's how you get on readers recommended lists. And THAT'S what sells books!

I'm building a website to list the books by genre and buy links. This will be WIDELY publicized! We'll cross-promote each other. We'll have some big prizes to give away too in order to get readers to the site. So join in!!!

Here is the link to register your book/s. There is also a link available for you to share this with your other author friends. The more the merrier!!

Email me at leia@leiashaw.com if you have questions.

Six Sentence Sunday

I'm working on a fun, sexy contemporary erotic book with author Cari Silverwood and upcoming author Sorcha Black. I had my doubts about this project but it's quickly becoming my new favorite thing to write. I won't reveal much about it just yet but here's a little hint and a snippet below. Two best friends, a dom, a haunted house, and a lot of kink. Intrigued?

A TV hung on one warm brown wall. Next to it were two built in bookshelves stacked with a few DVDs and video games, and a couple empty beer cans. She tsked at Jude. “No books? For shame.”

He grinned. “Just wait till we go upstairs.”

“Is that how you lure girls to your bed?” she asked with a smirk. “Come upstairs and see my impressive book collection.”

“Would it work?”

It would for me! And upstairs they find alllll sorts of fun...collections. *wicked grin*

Six Sentence Sunday

Last SSS I gave you a depressing bit of story from Destiny Forgiven. I was locked in misery from a two month long writers block. Well my writers block has lifted, mostly, though I'm still fragile.

So now I've started what I thought would be the 6th book but I'm considering making it the 5th instead. Destiny Lost is Aedan's story. Here's a little snippet to win you over.

Aedan grabbed the back of her neck and tugged her into his chest. Too consumed with grief to object, she let him. Fated mate? Well, her fate sucked.

“We’ll have fun, lass,” he crooned in her ear.

“Fun?” She yanked out of his grip. “This isn’t a game! I don’t even like you."

Laid-back, unrepentant fae, Aedan, has a huge mistake to atone for in this book. It's shaping up to be an interesting story that I think you'll like. Aedan is different from my other heroes. He needs a knock to the head once in a while. Hopefully, Nikki is woman enough to do it ;)
